On 14 April 2000 Board Notice 29 of 2000 was published in Government Gazette No. 21067, setting out the list of candidates for the above by-election and determining 26 July 2000 at 12:00 as the closing date for the return of ballot papers to the Council.

The counting of votes will commence at 09:00 on 27 July 2000, at the offices of the South African Nursing Council on the ground floor.
