Election Process Schedule

The election has been scheduled in accordance with the stipulations prescribed in the Regulations Relating to the Election of Members of the Council, published under Government Notice No. R.1318 of 10 October 1997.  (These regulations have subsequently been repealed.)

1. Notice of election and calling for nominations 17 January 2003
2. Closing date for the lodging of nominations 28 February 2003
3. Ballot paper preparation 1 - 7 March 2003
4. Publication of names of candidates 14 March 2003
5. Final date for dispatch of ballot papers by post 30 March 2003
6. Voting takes place 30 March - 16 May 2003
7. Closing date / time for receipt of ballot papers 16 May 2003 at 12:00
8. Counting of votes 17 - 21 May 2003
9. Announcement of results 21 May 2003
10. Publication of results 30 May 2003
